2. How do I photograph my signature and add it to my FPCA form?


Here's how to take a photograph of your signature so you can submit your FPCA form directly to your election office from VoteFromAbroad. When you use this feature, you'll be able to sign your form without the need to print it out first.

1. When you're finished filling out the form, you'll have a chance to review it. If everything looks good, click "Next" at the bottom of the page.
(To make changes, click "Back.")

2. "Next" will take you Step 5: Sign and submit your form, where you'll have the option to photograph your signature and attach it to your form.
Choose "YES, I want to sign now."

3. After you click "I Agree" to the statements, you have 2 options: (1) If you have an image file of your signature, you can use the link to upload the file.
Or, (2) you can photograph your signature so it can be attached to your form.

To photograph your signature: Sign a separate blank sheet of paper. Then, click "Start" to activate your camera.
(You may need to "allow" the website to use your camera.)

4. It may take a few seconds to come into view, but when you've got a good shot of your signature, click "Take Photo."
     TIP: Hold the paper with your signature close to the camera lens to zoom in and get a good shot of your signature.

5. The photo of your signature will show up on the screen. You can move it around, increase or decrease the size, etc., until it fits properly in the red box.
When it looks good, click "Use This Signature."
(If needed, click "Try Again" to return to the screen to take another photo of your signature.)

6. After you've decided to "Use This Signature," you'll see the options available to submit your form to your state.
Choose "Email now."

7. You'll see the email message that will be sent to your Local Election Official -- you can type in a different message if you wish.
Your signed form will be sent along with it as an attachment.

8. Scroll down below the attachment, and click "Send Email." Your form will be sent directly to your election office.
As a final step, you'll receive an email from "VoteFromAbroad" confirming that the form was sent out.
